Forró For All Code of Conduct

At Forró For All, we are committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone. By participating in our events and classes, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.

1. Respect and Inclusion

1.1 Be Respectful – Treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of gender, sexuality, race, ability, nationality, or dance experience.

1.2 No Discrimination or Harassment – We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or any inappropriate behaviour, including unwanted advances, inappropriate comments, or any form of intimidation. If someone expresses discomfort, respect their boundaries immediately.

1.3 Respect Personal Space – Dance is about connection, but always be mindful of consent and personal boundaries. If your partner looks uncomfortable, adjust accordingly.

2. Safety and Conduct

2.1 No Unwelcome Behaviour – Sexualized comments, inappropriate jokes, and unwelcome physical contact will not be tolerated. This applies to interactions both on and off the dance floor.

2.2 Accidents Happen, Stay Courteous – If you accidentally bump into someone or step on their foot, apologize and move on. No need for frustration—dancing is meant to be fun!

2.3 No Intoxication – If you’re under the influence of drugs or alcohol to the point of impaired judgment or unsafe dancing, you may be asked to leave.

2.4 No Dancing If Sick – Stay at home if you or a close contact has symptoms of cold, flu or COVID-19, has been advised to quarantine or isolate, or has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days.

3. Reporting Violations

3.1 How to Report an Issue – If you witness or experience inappropriate behavior, please report it to an organizer or volunteer as soon as possible. Your concerns will be taken seriously, and confidentiality will be respected.

3.2 Consequences for Violations

  • First-time minor violations will result in a private conversation and a reminder of our policies.

  • Repeated offenses may lead to a temporary or permanent ban from our events.

  • Any harassment, threatening behaviour, or serious misconduct will result in immediate removal.

4. Dance Etiquette & Community Spirit

4.1 Practice Good Grooming – Personal hygiene is essential for a pleasant dance experience. Freshen up before dancing, wear deodorant, and bring a towel or extra shirt if needed. Avoid strong perfumes or colognes.

4.2 Dress Appropriately – Wear comfortable and clean clothes that allow movement. Avoid accessories that could get caught in clothing or harm your partner. Bring dry shoes in winter to keep the dance floor safe.

4.3 Be a Supportive Partner – Everyone has different dance styles and experience levels. Encourage others rather than criticize. Never embarrass or belittle your partner. Welcome new dancers and help create a friendly and inclusive environment—after all, we were all beginners once!

By attending Forró For All classes and events, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct. Thank you for making our community a safe and welcoming space for everyone!
